Being Boiled?

Question for readers, a famous pop group, but a song that definitely wasnt a major hit for them, remember it? Answers at end of blog, as per usual.

Today, I had a flotation tank session planned already, which is something I look forward to, for so many reasons. However, sadly I have to report that since Friday, the state of my back, more specifically my spine, hasnt been good. So yesterday, I checked to see if the infra red sauna might be available for a session prior to the float, as heat does it some good. Oh, and as mentioned previously, I set myself up to try it, enclosed in a sauna suit.

My amusement started when it was given to me. Yes, it was a wonderful shade of metallic silver, and elasticated everywhere, to keep the heat in, of course. Oh, and hooded too! Quite seriously, all it needed was gloves, socks/boots, and a face cover in metallic silver, and I’d have had the perfect robot look. Oh fine, I would have loved that, but anyway… I did actually find I was also provided with a pair of gloves (non matching, unfortunately), but only after the event, sadly!

So then, in I go, to be ‘boiled’ (I called it roasted at the time, but boiled works for the video) at 140 degrees, for about 30 minutes! In truth, about 10 minutes in, I stood up, and yes, the spine was a lot more obliging, even then. OK, and to ‘excite’ the guys (and maybe a few girls?), I could feel the sweat dripping down between my boobs, quite profusely, even under the suit!

But yes, seriously, if someone had popped a helmet over my head, I could easily have believed I was being turned into a robot. Sadly, not to be! Yes, I was almost disappointed when the heating bars went off, as my session was over. Mind, I kept the ‘robot suit’ on until it was time to go in the pod, no shock there.

Will I do it again? Oh, absolutely! Would I love to do it with matching gloves, footwear, and face cover, even more so!

Oh yes, and the flotation pod session was fun too. I managed to get Clara to come out to play again, and she even sounded disappointed when the music started back up, and she had to let me back into my mind. Maybe before the dance routine in March, I should let her stay, lol? Mind, she might find my body less receptive to her own to classy dance steps, lol?

Right, video time. A very early Human League song, a while before they became really famous. I picked this video over the standard one, because of the silver outfits. I would say why couldnt I be offered a part like that (I would have been 16 when it was made), but its a Russian movie, in the Soviet era, so that might be why? Therefore I know nothing of the movie, beyond this.

I got…infra red heat

OK, I know I dont have to do a blog here, every time I do the other one, but I do generally feel sort of duty bound to do so. So, to save on guilt…

I mentioned the discovery of the availability of an infra red sauna relatively on my doorstep (same place as flotation tank), but I hadnt planned on having to experience it quite as soon as today. Unfortunately, add in the combination of the lack of Physio, due to the holidays, the cold weather, and my back was totally locked up this morning. But yes, thats right, an interesting new ‘toy’ to try out, if available, and it was, at noon today.

Now, remember I have never been in a sauna before, of any kind, so had no idea what to expect, other than that it would be hot in there. And yes, thankfully, it was. I decided to protect my ‘modesty’ by keeping bra, and panties on, as it wasnt totally secluded, but fine, I might have been better off in the nude! The bra will live, but fine, maybe it was a bit damp when I put it back on, after post sauna shower!

Much as I expected, the heat did make a lot of difference to the state of my back. Yes, at the end of 30 minutes of being ‘cooked’ at 150 degrees, I could stand up with ease. Thanks to a bumpy bus ride or two getting back here, I have a little bit of soreness again, but nothing more than is standard after a day at work, at worse. So yes, a good improvement, for sure.

It did amuse me that I got an apology if it wasnt as hot as it might have been, but I was first customer of day, so therefore it was heating up from scratch, and no latent heat in the room. Honestly, it was fine by me, as once it gets above about 80, my back starts to loosen up anyway, and was definitely above that. I have been tipped off that next time, I should use their sauna suit, as my sole aim is to heat up my body, especially my back, and I’m told that will enhance that effect. I might well do so, but I’m glad I started with a simple technique for the first time, anyway.

Will I do it again? Yes, probably. And yes, definitely, if a similar issue occurs, though thankfully I should be able to get back to a more normal therapy routine again now. But fine, typically curious ‘kitty’, now I know there is such a thing as a Sauna Suit, I want to try it on, in a sauna! So, one more time, almost certainly. Might well do it the day before the trip to Blackpool later this month, before I go in the flotation tank to be brainwashed. Sorry, for my float session!

But yes, its cleaner, and a lot easier than the more traditional saunas, I must say. And yes, this ‘old bird’ enjoyed her roasting in the oven, lol!

Right, video time. Strictly, this isnt true in this kind of sauna, but in a more standard one…?
