Alright, the two blogs have got 1 thing in common for a reason

And fine, the reason for that relates to someone who was born 114 years ago today, in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, before it was even a state, just, hence the obvious song. Though by the time this became a Musical she had long retired from dancing, and given she died somewhere in the first half (or so) of the 1950’s, she might even have been dead. Yes, Clara Johnson’s birthday today.

The amusing, and wonderful thing is that tomorrow morning marks, finally the MRI to try and see what is the matter with my brain. Well, I’d take the robot body, and an AI mind, but not sure they are available! But yes, Rotwang, if you see this, please…

What a couple  of friends are trying to arrange (given how slow the NHS is here) is to get me over to the US, and get my brain sorted out, as well as something else, long overdue to be dealt with too. One of the things that has been mentioned is getting me over there (quite possibly Oklahoma as Clara’s birth state, as I cant afford LA (can anyone?), and if I do, no prizes for working out my name if I  do, wouldnt that be fun. But yes, I always said I’d get the MRI done here first, so we knew the issue, but finally that happens tomorrow, and after that, I said I’d put my brain, and body in Kiefer’s hands, so…

Yes, at some point next year, Clara Elaine Johnson the second might be writing this in Oklahoma, maybe? Or somewhere else, though the only way it will be Hollywood is if I find someone to buy for me, lol

OK, video. OK, in more senses than one, lol! Well, unless Rotwang has done something to the MRI tube, lol?

When I’m calling Alexa

Its funny, how at a time when I might have been trying to convince American friends that I really dont need to go over there to get all my forthcoming surgery over there, how the NHS likes to keep shooting itself in the foot. Early this week I got to read an article that nowadays, not only do you have to wait the standard version of ‘forever’ for surgery, but now you’re likely to wait about 40-50% longer than forever for said surgery. This is because they have rearranged the salary payments to specialists that it no longer gives them any good reason to work overtime to try and reduce the horrendous backlog, and its therefore growing rapidly.

Of course, as always, if I had the funds to go privately, all 3 issues could probably be looked into, and dealt with, faster than you could blink! Given my American friends tell me that the specialists over there are better than ours, that is hardly likely to endear them to the idea of me having surgery over here! In truth, it probably killed my resistance, especially given it was only recently that there was a report saying that complaints about service (when you can get it) were going up again, how could I do so?

Then came today. Our health service seem to think we dont need to go to medical staff for advice any more, we can all get it from Amazon, via Alexa.  Now, giving that only 10% of the population currently have said service (unless they’re going to provide it to all for free?), we have a problem. On top of that, you have the issue that some people are only going to exaggerate their symptoms, others will make them sound less than they are, and we’re only asking for chaos to ensue. And thats not even starting to talk about ‘her’ issue with understanding some accents, and the numerous privacy issues this will cause, well…

It might well, as stated, save a few people from going to A&E for minor issues, but when she gets it wrong, and someone who needed to go to doctor, or hospital, and didnt, well, the legal people will be happy!

And just think, all the money they are paying Amazon for this service could be spent on something useful, like the ever growing surgery lists! But no, lets waste it this way instead. Ah well…

OK, the video is like me, a real vintage item, its not actually the song title, though many think it is.

Tie me up?

Strictly, this post is a tongue in cheek piece of wishful whimsy, but if anyone wants to provide in the next 4 weeks or so, lol?

Firstly, on a more serious moment, I have arranged wheelchair assistance for the airports on my trip now. Even before todays news (more shortly), I wasnt going to be able to stand long enough for the Immigration queue, and maybe the security queues, so I got it done. Yes, I’m old, and beaten up, and I know it! 😛

Well, for a while, I thought, just maybe, but no. Yesterday, when I got home from work, I found a letter from the NHS requesting me to make a call, and make an appointment for my examination on my back, and the density of my bones. Yes! Maybe I can get something sorted before my holiday? Well…

I rang this morning, and the first date they could offer me, was 8th September, the day before I leave for US. I mean, I wasnt expecting anything immediate, but nearly 5 weeks…? Eek! So now, if I want to be able to stand, and serve as a bridesmaid at the wedding (and I really do, will be a first), I need a way to be able to stand for more than 2-3 minutes!

If anyone knows anything better (cybernetic spine would be handy, yes, tongue in cheek, I assume?) than a back brace, or corset, let me know. No, I havent got the money to go privately, not even close! Reckon it would be 5 days max if I could! In fact, someone has already suggested a back brace that will do the job, but…

I know, I’m a robot wannabee, so…anyone know of anything in metallic silver lol? Back brace would be fine, as that would solve issue, but a corset that could make me think it would turn me into a robot, once tied into it lol…? No, I’m not really looking for waist reduction, just back support, before you ask.

I know, cant be done, certainly not in 4 weeks, but thought it would be fun just to ask? But, if anyone can…? 😉

Video time. Found this purely by chance, and yes its adult, so if you’re too young, and reading this, go away now, if not sooner! But if someone wants to tie me up into a metallic silver corset, for September…?
