A mermaid in her tail

Just to mention that 3 people at ‘The MC Garden’ deserve a special mention for this, known as Rosie, Kris, and Legion, though I know for sure that 2 have different names, and the third says she has, so who am I to think, or say otherwise?

Lets just say that Rosie has a mermaid fantasy that makes mine look tame, but comments seem to suggest that she has a parent who wouldnt approve of it, lol? Legion is a wonderful guy, has helped me a ton, and would probably get me a full body mermaid suit (I couldnt do a bikini at 61), including tail, if he could easily do so, and had the spare cash laying around. Kris is just a nice guy who looks like the singer in the video,  though I’m sure he’d deny it.

I think its fair to say at this point that the origin of my back problems goes back before my more serious brain issues, and just to remind people, the spine got damaged, bit of a fracture, and hurt a lot. Then my brain went AWOL, and took my mobility with it. The irony being that the actual back pain has lessened since then. But walking, oh please, no chance. As some might also remember, when I could get around, I was doing a flotation pod thing, to take the pressure off my spine, which was great, but now I cant get across town, ah well…

The mermaid look tends to go 2 ways, both of which end in a tail, which I must admit, would be fun. One is what I’m going to call the Ariel look, which we can call bikini and tail, which might be fine if you’re young, with a good figure, and looks. No, at my age, not going to happen.

No, before you mention it, I’m not even considering the no bra look, lol 😛

The more practical look for a ‘mermaid’ of my age is the one where the tail sort of melds into a ‘swimsuit’ or extended tail, that covers you up, and supports you (critical for me), all the way over the cleavage! Yes, that would sort my spine out, being held in place like that! The big snag, even if I had it, given that I dont live in a tropical paradise, would be where to wear it. They might say otherwise, but I dont see your average public pool letting someone in the water in full mermaid garb!

Might actually be great fun in the flotation pod, but I would either need to be ‘tossed’ into the pod by someone, or I would need to literally get into it by the pod, and flop back into it. Would need to get out of suit before getting out, but hey, you do it in private, so…?

But yes, I must admit, doing that, even only for a photo shot would be a whole lot of fun! So if anyone is offering…

The video is one of those songs, that at least here in the UK, was very much a one hit wonder. The song, and the video is quite crazy, but then again, so am I! And yes, the lead singer isnt Kris, but looks a lot like him!

Any designers out there?

Though in truth, it will be at least a couple of months before my finances start to return to a sane level again, and possibly a bit more, given I’m diligently saving up money for holidays next year (and yes, the pound getting a lot stronger against the dollar again, would help a lot), at the back of my mind, after about 18 months of barely buying anything for myself, has been to treat myself to a little silly something, clothing wise, or in this case, bedtime clothing wise.

Something that has caught my eye, and seems quite popular at present, for both children, and adults, especially women, is something called the mermaid tail blanket. Yes, I think they’re cute, though equally they are a bit more loose fitting than I would ideally love my mermaid tail to be. I know, I’d love something far more akin in both look, and fitting to a real mermaids tail, though I suspect I might not feel the same way about it when trying to get into it, and more pertinently, trying to get out of it, especially if I needed to do so quickly, like in the morning, when I get up!

Fine, the ability while wearing it to be able to breathe underwater would be a nice bonus, I’m not sure how desirable that would be, and certainly beyond technology at present. Fine, if I can ever convince myself that buying one isnt just a silly thing to do, I just might, though probably not, I’m far too practical for things like that, in truth. Yes, fine, if it was more like the fitting of a real mermaid bodysuit, then maybe, but something as loose as that…?

The other nighttime wear that has always caught my eye, and had secret appeal, is the onesie! The only snag is, I want one in a style that they dont seem to produce them in, the robot look! The closest I can find is

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Womens-Luxury-Onesie-Pyjamas-Jumpsuit/dp/B017HL6YUE/ref=sr_1_2?s=clothing&ie=UTF8&qid=1476557899&sr=1-2&keywords=onesie

which is nice, but I’d prefer a more robot look, and obviously something a bit more like a robot shell, which I guess means a little more tight fitting than the standard one. My other snag with the standard ones might be my height. I’m 5′ 9″ tall (1.73 M) and I gather most are designed for shorter women than me!

But just being curious, is there any designer out there who could customize something to fit my desires? Or simply create one, though having said that, as mentioned already, I’m not in a position to spend a fortune on one of these! I doubt it, but if anyone fancies creating, by whatever means, a robot sleep suit, or a mermaid tail, more like a ‘real’ mermaids, then…? The latter, ideally I need a body suit top, though flesh colored would be fine! If I’m going to sleep in it, I need to stay warm, so…

I know, I know, but if you dont ask?

The video, what I might do in one of those outfits, though more likely I might dream of the outfit creator lol!

If you want to be a mermaid (of sorts)?

Oh to be in Coney Island tomorrow, with my friend. Why? Because its the Mermaid parade there, and that would be just so much fun to be part of. Sadly, unless someone dispatches a space craft overnight that can get me to New York at the speed of sound, or faster, its not going to happen! Thankfully, my friend, Stacie will be there though, lucky woman.

As far as I can tell, the wearing of a mermaid tail, is purely optional, though going by the promotion page, on the website, some people will be doing so. Stacie, no, shoes, or so she’s admitting to me, anyway. That link?

Oh fine, I might be a bit old for something like that, but hey, just once, it would be so much fun! And yes, me, if I could get myself fitted with a tail, you bet I would wear one. Ideally one that is removable afterwards, but only ideally! Fine, I’ll pass (for now at least) on the surgery to enable me to breathe underwater, but if the offer was there? 😉 Would be fun, but as far as I know, not yet possible!

So yes, if you’re in the area tomorrow, and I’m hoping a few readers might be, and read this in time, go down to Coney Island, have fun, and enjoy the parade. Oh, and if you see a cute little space craft parked somewhere nearby, you can come and chat to me too! No, I wouldnt hold too much hope of that lol! But you never know…?

Right, the video, this is nearly as old as me! Very tentative link, I guess, though mermaids surely ‘walk’ along the sands at times, when we humans arent looking! Video quality isnt great, but hey, its over 50 years old!

Turn me into a mermaid!

The other big fantasy of mine

Certainly currently no more feasible than turning me into a robot, to do this properly, and in some senses at least, probably more tricky, as being able to breathe underwater in comfort definitely sounds a complex physiological change lol! Not that I suspect turning internal organs into internal wiring and the like would be easy I suspect, well not without nanotechnology and the like!

The big difference is, whereas a really good robot outfit doesnt seem within the standard fancy dress realm, the mermaid one definitely is. Why, because I guess the latter is cute in a sense, whereas in films at least, the former just tends to be intimidating I guess? Also I suspect the likes of Ariel, and Darryl Hannah in Splash created a more romantic image of mermaids than there used to be. She used to be the so called siren of the sea, luring sailors to their death etc, something Ariel would never dream of doing lol!

The long wig (used to always be blonde, but has Ariel changed that too?) is fairly compulsory, unless you have very long hair anyway! So does the ‘seashell’ bra, which I suspect has varying degrees of comfort to wear somehow, but tends to be fairly standard in look. The big difference is generally the tail. These can be anything from something so wispy that you could probably walk in it, right through to a tail so strong and rigid that a girl would need to be carried everywhere! Funnily enough, the latter would appeal to me more.

A camera shoot dressed as a mermaid would be great fun, though clearly, the stronger and more rigid the tail, the better for me! The ability to swim underwater woiuld be even better, but very unlikely shall we say? Thats not to say I wouldnt mind a photo shoot in a really good, silver, metallic robot outfit, but suspect the former is more viable somehow?

Cost is a major reason why neither is likely to happen though lol!
