Still blonde, but having crazy moments

Yes, for those who put their money on staying blonde, go collect your winnings. Mind, the price would have been so short, you wouldnt have got rich on it lol! But let me say here and now, next time around, its being changed. I would say dark, a la Brooksie, and indeed most other young flappers, but my hairdresser tossed another idea at me today, so…good job I’ve got a bit of thinking time! Go brown, maybe with red highlights, hmm…one thing is certain though, it wont be blonde! Yes, my hair naturally is fairly dark, not black, but heading that way. So, quite literally going back to my roots, in that case lol! Probably keep the bob the current length though, wouldnt want to be too boyish looking, despite the boobs!

Oh, the crazy moment? Well, as I mentioned a while back, I won a competition at Christmas, earning lots of free money, in terms of points in the company ‘My Choices’ scheme at least. Snag, most sites you pay by card, and they return the money to your bank account. Fine if you have credit, or debit cards, but me…! One blessing, Amazon, you can buy vouchers with the points directly, so £100 went that way. And up to today, I hadnt spent a penny! Today I made up for that! Several tops, a few dresses, and some nice chocolate later, most of that money is gone! 🙂 Mind, I can soon top it up with another £75, if I feel so inclined, but might rest on my laurels for a while. No, that was all sensible purchases, but…

I’ve managed to sell 4 links for the film, so I had a bit of money in my Paypal account, which was nice. So I duly made my donation to the Lance Mackey medical fund, and then checked out Ebay. What did I see, a long(ish) midi length dress, of the type termed leather look…in silver/grey…for £4.99! You’re right, I couldnt resist, though I’m not sure when I wear it, but I know it will be fun doing so…sometime!

But yes, me buying midi length leather look dresses, I must be crazy, so this video seems apt

Colours Of My Life

Seriously, I dont think Meryl Streep has got anything to worry about, as far as selling movies go, but already I’ve sold 3, and had interest from 2 others. Not bad for a 55 year old who is never going to win any awards, I guess? At this rate, I’ll make more from my movie, than from my stories, ah well… Not that I mind, seriously I dont. That of course might be it, and no, I dont expect to get stopped in the street, and asked for my autograph, but…wow!

The other issue today, and the one that relates to the title of this blog, happened this morning, care of that ‘wonderful’ place known as Facebook. Yes, its like marmite, I suspect, you either love it, or hate it. I’d like to think I fall into the ‘I tolerate it’ brigade, but do seem to spend far too much time there, on non publicity issues, the only reason I opened the second account, for Merry Brooks. Never mind…

One of those group things there, is called Colorizing Hollywood. Yes, most of my readers here will see that spelling as fine, but we Brits…get to live with it, I guess. It seems to be a clever guy, turning old black and white photos of movie stars of the past into colour ones. This morning, one of those posted up was Louise Brooks. And yes, it was a nice job he did on her too. But…one of my work friends, in her comment, posted up my name, nothing more! My only reply, I wish!

Lets see, currently I have the wrong colour hair, no helmet fringe, and fail to look as beautiful as Brooksie. Apart from that, all very flattering, but…Might have been a Specsavers moment, but someone suggested I look like Jean Harlow, in those photo shoot pictures, again I wish! I could see a slight resemblance, I guess, but seriously…yes, very flattered!

All of which leads to the last thing I need to do this week, get my hair cut, and highlighted/ coloured. Now, before this morning, no contest, blonde again! Now I’m wondering if I should go back to a (slightly) more natural look, and go dark again, and really try for the Brooks look? No, I cant do the fringe, but arent there fringe extensions nowadays, that I could cheat with? And if so, do they just do a basic fringe, or can you get one to do the helmet look? If I was a betting person (and apart from the Grand National, I’m not), I’d still say blonde, but…there is also the factor of one person who has threatened to ‘kill me’ if I change from blonde, so…?

Choices, choices, isnt it fun?

The video, an absolute blast from the past, from a group I loved as a child, though this is from the 1993 reunion tour…in colour!

If I Could Turn Back Time

Yes, at least half of the planned story postings have happened this weekend, the 2 short pieces have appeared on the latest EMCSA update. The 2 for ebooks that require far more work to get them posted, doesnt look like it will happen at this point. 😦 I think I’ve got most things done apart from that though (3 more stories on the update, and I’ll be relatively happy), so not a total blowout.

Oh, and why am I trying to plough through so much reading, simple, am having my hair done Tuesday morning, and my nails done in the afternoon, so that will kill off my free time for the day pretty well. No, nothing dramatic, just a lot more blonde than at present after highlights done, and a bit shorter, but not Louise Brooks short, I’m too butch for that look! I get one or two comments/sniggers about looking like a guy with shoulder length hair as it is. If I got a short bob look…! facepalm!

Funnily enough, both sets of stories include one that involves a genre thats rarely used in mind control stories, time travel. No, I dont know why, and time stop doesnt seem to be used either, but lets face it, neither are more fictional than mind controlled sex slaves, and people being turned into robots! Oh, what?…Ah well, lol! 😛

And yes, alright, both pieces of time travel involve the 1920’s, though the ebook version is only travel in a dream, not reality. The EMCSA one, thats for real lol! One I used as a play on history, the serum run to Nome in 1925, the other was simply to give me an option to play with someone who might be Louise Brooks! Thats the one you can find here

Yes, well alright, sue me, but its fun to imagine… 😉 Mind, I have no idea of the reality of life in the 20’s, just gaining my knowledge from words and images of that era, thats all. No, I dont think anyone from now could really fit that seamlessly into a 1920’s lifestyle, but who knows until you try it?

Me, I’d love to find a hypnotist who could put me in a trance like state where I am a 20’s flapper girl, but lets face it, not likely to happen. Maybe not to stay that way, but…might not be too bad if I could still have internet lol!

Right, the video, clue is in the title, though many may not know the song,
