A dangerous creation?

A few years ago, a novel was written by Laura Moriarty, called ‘The Chaperone’ relating to the very early teenage (pre-fame) years of an actress named Louise Brooks. Yes, I might have mentioned her before, a few films made in Europe made her ‘famous’ to some degree, even if her attitude to work didnt always meet with the approval of Hollywood studios, primarily Paramount. This novel actually related to her life before the movies, primarily around the time she went to New York, to try and make it with the Denishawn Dance Company. No, they eventually lost patience with her, dismissed her, and the rest was history, all well known.

The thing is, this novel wasnt principally about Louise, but obviously her name probably helped with more than a few sales. I mean, I bought it, only for that connection. In truth, the book was pretty good, there was interest in making it into a movie, which has in fact just been released nationally. I thought someone said it was today, Wikipedia says it was a week ago, but who can be sure? Not me, definitely.

There is one snag with a movie, that there isnt with a book, the need for someone to actually portray said famous actress. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you view that opportunity), Haley Lu Richardson got chosen to play the role of the young, teenage Brooks. Luckily, seemingly for me, I’ve never had to portray a real life person, known to thousands, to be compared to. The little bit I’ve seen, she seems to have made a decent job of playing the wilful, teenage Brooks, and is a passable lookalike, though in truth, it would be hard for anyone of modern build to look exactly like Brooks, given the difference in diet, and her fairly unique bone structure, but she makes a good effort.

However, for some, this is not enough. And please remember, Brooks is just a side character in this story, not the main star! As per the title, its about her Chaperone! Some of the comments from ‘fan groups’ have been downright rude about the poor woman, in fact. No, she’s not a perfect Brooks lookalike, but who could be? In truth, I suspect if Brooks was secretly miraculously resurrected, and took the part, without them knowing, that some would still say she wasnt enough of a match for their blessed Louise!

I cant yet trace a release date in the UK, but it might tempt me to the cinema when it does, health permitting. And yes, I’m certain she wont be a perfect match for Louise Brooks, but unlike seemingly so many, I wouldnt expect her to be. Its called acting for a reason, darlings!

Mind, its not just Brooks fans that infuriate people in the acting industry. In the ‘adult industry’ world, people portray fembots for the satisfaction of some men. Thing is, some of those men demand plenty of material, but only seem to either criticise, or leave no reviews at all! The criticism is often for the tiniest things, or for the impossible wishes, because these are actually organic human actresses, playing robots, not the real thing. Then they wonder why the actresses get frustrated with them, and stop making fembot movies!

As I joked to someone, if someone actually created a female robot, got her to perform in a movie, they’d probably still find something to complain about in her performance, ah well… I’m sure in a few decades, it will be possible to transform actors, and actresses so dramatically for roles, you wont be able to tell if its an actor, or the real thing (even if she died decades before), but for now… OK, rant over.

Its not often I’m a fan of a remix of a song, but this is one of those exceptions. In fact, there used to be a remix of this, which I loved even more, but its disappeared off You Tube for a while now. So we’ll settle for this.

Working Las Vegas?

Before we get started, let me add that this article is now over 5 years old, and I have no idea what has happened with the whole concept since then, but given that someone mentioned it on Fembot Central today, lets work with it, and see what happens?

https://lasvegasweekly.com/news/2013/may/02/valley-bots-how-vegas-workshop-blurring-line-betwe/

Now, for me at least, what a way to work in Las Vegas that would be! Or indeed, working anywhere in one of those Showbot outfits, in truth. Yes, by the sound of it, I either need a casino that fancies me for the role, or a wealthy benefactor, lol.

Oh would I wear that? Oh please, is the Pope Catholic? ๐Ÿ˜‰

The interesting thing mentioned that would actually be a benefit for me now, is the comment about how hot it was to wear it. Well, given that thanks to my damaged spine, my back loves as much heat as it can get, that just sounds like heaven to me! So if they are still available, and someone wants to spoil me by buying me one, I definitely wouldnt say no! Or if the manufacturers should read this, need a willing model for a shoot, or a convention, please, please give me a call!

OK, video time. Well, there’s a sort of Casino, but its definitely not Vegas! No, its somewhere I’ve been far more recently, Blackpool! Not sure anywhere there would fancy a Showbot, just maybe…? Its mainly Elvis, but there is enough David Morrissey to satisfy a wonderful Aussie friend of mine, I hope? Viva, Miss Showbot? Yeah, I only wish!

Only make believe?

Lets cover a couple of amusing robot moments in one blog tonight.

Firstly, a faux pas from Russia, or which at least turned into one when people discovered the truth! At a technology forum in Yaroslavl, the Russians tried to claim they had created a hi tech robot that could match dancers, and so many other things. Snag is, as was quickly spotted, there were no sensors, or anything on the robot body that would allow it to match the steps of the dancers, and also there were a few times when it got a little ‘over enthusiastic’ in this matching mode. As was later discovered, and widely discussed, the reason this robot was so good, was the fact there was a human inside a robot suit doing the performance!

https://www.newsweek.com/russia-robot-fake-man-suit-fraud-robotics-forum-technology-boris-1255560

Its actually a costume made by a company called Show Robots, who do actually make very excellent robot costumes (I’ve seen them before in ‘action’) if you can afford the price. And clearly Russia considered $3800 reasonable to try and get one up on the rest of the world. Of course, now its backfired…? Oops! Let me say that if they’re trying to hastily get rid of the costume, claim they never had it, and all that, I can send them my address, I’d love it.

Well, it might be handy for me, and not just in the fantasy sense (even though it works for that) as well. Back in the late 1990’s, I played a robot for a friend. I’d like to think I made a good job of it, though the costume was nothing very special, definitely far from as elite as this. Anyway, talking to one of the ‘content creators’ over at Fembot Central, she was suggesting that maybe I should do it again. My comment was that at my age, it could only be done in a full robot suit, as I’m 60 now! She just said to go ahead and do that, and fine, if I had the finances to get a suit, and film something, maybe I would? Yes, this suit would certainly solve the issue, even if its not quite fembot sexy enough, lol?

But yes, believe me, if someone got me a decent/good full body robot suit, and gave me the chance to perform, I’d definitely go for it! Think the chances of that happening are roughly zero, but we will see? Anyone up for it, lol? Would be amazing to wear something like that costume, regardless.

OK, video time. Child was one of those 70’s boy bands that never really made it. This, a couple of minor hits, and that really was it. But yes, its easier to find this version of the song than a 50’s one for live performance

That old fembot magic?

However much acting, and performing I’ve done over the years, its fair to say that its all been pretty wholesome stuff. I wouldnt say all of it was suitable for the family, but thats more down to the fact that children might not have got the meaning of some of the stuff I’ve done as an adult, rather than anything they shouldnt see! Oh fine, there is one hypnosis film I did, which is actually on You Tube, that might not be suitable for the young, but even that has nothing in it that would really shock the babes. Well, other than actually being hypnotized, maybe? No, its one of the secret setting things, technically its pay to view, but if anyone really wants to, ask nicely, and maybe…? ๐Ÿ˜‰

One of the things I’ve noticed at the ‘movies’ that appear on Fembot Central, involving female robots, is that they are all what I would term soft porn stuff. Oh fine, the bulk of members are male, probably want to buy that sort of stuff, but in a way, I just think its a shame that there isnt a single female transformation film to be seen. I dont know, maybe they used to make them in the past, they just didnt sell, so nobody bothers any more? Mind, lets face it, no one is going to make any kind of fembot film with a less than stunning 60 year old, that no one sane would want to see with her clothes off anyway!

I dont know, I never considered making anything adult when I was younger, but then again, I never had the looks, or figure to do so anyway. Also, attitude to such matters was so different back then. But yes, I wonder, if I was young, pretty, but the only way I could get to play a robot, was in soft porn, would I do it? Probably not, but its a fascinating thought. It must be weird doing that sort of thing, in my eyes at least, but some seem to enjoy it, so…? But fine, my idea of playing a robot more revolves around an all enclosing silver bodysuit, than showing off my ‘human’ form, lol! But no ones seem to make those, ah well…

OK, video time. I tried to come up with something original, and this was best I could do. I suspect that ‘black magic’ isnt needed to get some young ladies to make ‘soft porn’ movies, or show off their naked bodies, but it might have been needed with me! The only live version I could find of this song was a recent Rod Stewart offering, who like all of us (well, me, anyway) seems to be showing his age now. Mind, as I remember when he was a pop star in the early 70’s, I guess he should be!

Playing the role of a robot

I dont think I ever got to play a robot on stage, not that I remember doing so, anyway. Lets face it, school plays are unlikely to include such an element, and most amateur dramatic stuff is based around doing things that dont need too many scene changes, or dramatic changes in costume, ideally no changes at all!

Doesnt mean I’ve never played as one, because I have, both in coherent thought, and under the power of hypnosis, but lets face it, I wouldnt resist the command to think I was a robot, lets face it. Sadly, I’ve never got to do dress up for any of these roles, its just been me, as a robot, but anyway…Yes, I’d love the chance to wear something like the Metropolis, or Gort look. Robbie the Robot look might be a lot of fun to do, but a bit more complex to set up, I guess?

The other thing I have done a few times, is do interviews about the whole robot thing of mine, though ironically I think they have all been for North American companies, but none involved a trip to the US. Ah well… It seems to be a subject that fascinates some TV people, though I dont know of any sci-fi series yet where they have actually turned humans into robots, I must say. Doll House is probably as close as they’ve got in a real life series, I would guess? Not that I would mind playing a constructed robot (as in Star Wars, or Buck Rogers) given the chance. I would add the robot in The Orville, but I suspect that was that modern ‘delight’, CGI?

This week, I saw another company asking for people who have played, or role played as robots at Fembot Central. It does seem to be focused on the sex side of things, more than anything else, but its not of concern to me, because they only want contact from people in LA, or NYC, and I’m not! In truth, probably wouldnt have worked for me, because they seem to want the sex element more than anything, and sex just doesnt interest me at all. But would I have offered my services, if in those cities, well, maybe?

Yes, my dream modelling job would be as a robot, at one of those convention things somewhere. Unlikely to happen, especially now, but you never know, I guess. Its fair to say at least, I could roleplay a robot easily, and willingly. Well, if they want to make it compulsory lol, I wouldnt say no, but…

So tonights video involves one of the better pieces of robot roleplay within a music video.

Nobody loves a robot when she’s sixty!

Alright, having done a sadly serious piece over on the other blog, lets do something very silly here, just to try and cheer me up!

One of the things about all the various forums I’m on, is that there are an awful lot of regulars, who have been there a while, like me, but every so often, someone new arrives, and makes themselves known. Quite often, they stay for a short period of time, then never show up again. Well, some stay, but you get my drift…?

Yes, one of these moments struck at Fembot Central in the last week or so, some guy arrived ‘loudly’, announcing he was looking to own a fembot, and all that sort of stuff. No, before you get any ideas, he doesnt mean it for real, all he is looking for is probably a one off role play, and that will almost certainly be that. Given that under normal circumstances, time for myself is pretty much zero, and the fact that I did all of that sort of thing 10-15 years ago, I passed it by.

So anyway, the next day, I have one of those ‘private message’ things from him, asking if I was interested in his offer. It may be something to do with the fact that there are very few females active on there, other than those who charge ‘considerable sums’ for their services, movies, or phone line wise, so he decided to try his luck.

Basically I replied, saying that if it was just for role-play, then no, I wouldnt be interested. If he really wanted me to live as a fembot, or he was actually going to transform me into one, to sell himself accordingly. To be fair to him, he said that maybe that was an idea, and could we chat on Skype, or something? Yes, that wasnt the answer I was expecting.

So anyway, fair is fair, at this point, before he got ‘over excited’, I thought I’d better point out one thing to him, my age. Lets be fair, its not fair for a guy to expect a pretty young thing, as a fembot in his life, and then get an old maid like me, even just on text chat. Yes, got a message back, which wasnt actually ageist, but made it very clear I didnt fit the perfect fembot image of his dreams! Not that I blame him, unless he was going to actually transform me, but besides all that…

Before you ask, no, he hasnt logged into Fembot Central since then, anyway! Whether it was me, and the situation, or just the lack of nubile, non professional (paying) young fembots, who knows? All I know is, seemingly a fembot who is nearly 60 isnt going to get love!

Tonights video. Well I knew this song, but had no idea what I would find for it on You Tube, but this seemed a good option!

I am your automatic lover!

No, seriously, I’m not, and you wouldnt want me as that either, not in my current human form at least. Yes, among other things, I’m 59, and if you want a fantasy sexbot, she’s going to look a lot younger than that! But fine, something happened today, that… well…I might get to find out what life as one is like! Oh fine, I wish!

Earlier this week, on Fembot Central, a request appeared from a TV company making a documentary about the current upgrades in sex dolls, and the challenge of creating a robot, that is almost human enough to be a partner for someone. In truth, I know most of the people there (to some degree, I dont blame them) treat anything like this with deep suspicion, and avoid talking to these people. Me, well, in my current human self, have no interest in sex, or emotions, but hey, anything fembot related, I’ll try to help.

So I have, and did. I spoke to the lady dealing with this research on the phone this morning, and in fact got a whole positive vibe to the whole thing. We spent about 40 minutes talking, and lets face it, I’m not seeking to ever have sex with a robot. Sex as a robot, now that might be fun, but with one, no, I think my days of sex, of my own volition are long gone!

Anyway, the chat continued, and it seems the company working on this development are based in San Diego. So I mentioned that I wouldnt mind seeing their place, and work, if possible when in California in May. So, said lady is going to check with the film unit working out of LA, and the company in San Diego, and I might be part of the action! No, I dont expect to be genuinely turned into a sexbot, but a woman can hope! Might get a makeover, just maybe, and then I could act the part, but…?

Oh fine, if they want to experiment on turning a human into a robot, I wont say no, mind! I suspect more likely the unit might let someone experience what life as a sexbot would be like (without the sex), that would be interesting in itself. To be fair to them, currently its in the very early stages of upgrading sex dolls, to sexbots.

So no, for now at least, I’m not going to say I’ve got that big US filming break just yet, but maybe, just maybe? And related to robots, pure heaven! I know, this is me, but…fingers crossed!

Right, video. This is a recent remix of a 70’s disco style song, and given I put up the original before, albeit about 6 years ago, lets roll with this. No, not sure which outfit I’d rather wear lol!

Just to add, if anyone reading this wants to help, or get involved themselves in anyway…

Raw TV are making a documentary looking at the evolving emotional and physical relationships between humans and robots. We are interested in speaking to people who have experienced genuine feelings towards robots, either emotional or sexual. Please get in touch with Carla on robots@raw.co.uk mid-April 2017. Thereโ€™s no obligation to take part and all information will be kept confidential. Thank you. (Over 18s only)
