I believed in Father Christmas?

Indeed, if you believed the idiots doing the long range weather forecasts 2 months ago, we should now be in the middle of continuous snow, from mid November, until mid March. Yes, we had a little bit of snow, briefly, but that was it! The irony is that this is about the 4th winter in a row that they have forecast Arctic conditions for months on end. We could still have some yet, but I wont hold my breath!

So this is it, the last post before Christmas Day. The rest of the week will include the traditional review of the year, though it might get a bit unbalanced, as a lot more happened in the last 4 months, than in the first 8, so it will probably end up being split that way. There will also be the traditional look forward piece, all the things I’m expecting to happen, a few that could happen (some more unlikely than others), and a few that would be fun, but almost certainly wont happen! So yes, a dreamed of, alien abduction might just appear in that last section lol!

Well, I know of 2 presents, one that I specifically requested when asked for, and one because we were expected to open our ‘Secret Santa’ presents at work. Beyond that, no idea! Nothing dramatic, I’m sure. Definitely safe to say no alcohol this year. A maxi length flapper style dress would be fun, but given that no one has asked my clothes sizing, I’m pretty sure thats not coming. Not that flappers did maxi length dresses, but I’m not 20 something any more! Was I ever, lol? Oh well, maybe I should just go for it, and not care?

So yes, Santa, if you want to arrange for me to wake up in the morning, as a young lady, with a cute figure, looking just like Clara Johnson in her twenties, it would be much appreciated

Oh, and lastly, it seems that I’m going to reprise the Elf role quite quickly, tomorrow in fact, for a young lady visiting here at present. Wasnt my planned outfit for tomorrow, but will sure be fun, all the same.

So, at this point, I’ll take the opportunity to wish all my readers, a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or Seasons Greetings, whichever you prefer. Yes, thats definitely the Civil Service neutrality option lol. Tonights video is probably my favorite Christmas song, probably because its not your usual saccharine effort, just the opposite in fact. Sadly, Greg Lake is no longer with us, but thats no reason not to play this live version, all the same.

I hope you get the Christmas you deserve! 😉

Elf pictures, and actually spending some money!

No, dont panic, I’m not expecting you to pay me any money or anything to read this, or even look at the pictures. However, I was sort of collecting at work yesterday for breast cancer charity for doing this, and did consider setting something up for people to donate from here, but seriously, by the time Go Fund Me (or whoever) took their share out of what is likely to be a tiny sum, I cant see any point! However, if the amusement of this leaves you so inclined to do so, then feel free to do so directly to the relevant charity in your Country, they’ll probably get more money that way. If you dont want to do it for your own charity, for whatever reason, then send it to a UK one. If you want to say Harlean sent you lol…?

So yes, yesterday it happened, and I must admit, it was great fun dressing up again, this time as an elf. Oh, photo? Fine…Behave, girl!

Before you ask, 2 donations already, plus 1 more tomorrow, so…if you wish to add? 😉

There were 2 other wonderful people who also got dressed up for the day, so I didnt just have the idea to my(s)elf about this. I’m sure they wont mind me posting this, but if they do, and in years to come, this blog doesnt make sense, you know why!

Will I do it again, given the chance? You bet I will! Seeing theaters, and other media people arent rushing for my services nowadays, it will probably be the only way I do!

As for today, back as a human all day…

In recent months I got a couple of vouchers for various rewards, one for being a clever golf tipster, and one for the LGBT presentation I did for work. But being a practical Yorkshire lass, I hadnt got around to spending them, until today…

Given the old creaking bones nowadays find going out to work hard enough, the thought of going into town looking for things, especially at this time of year holds no appeal for me. So, I was limited to sites I could shop from online, that I could use through my ‘One4All’ reward card. So I looked at a few sites, suitably unimpressed, and then saw TK Maxx was available. So, checking it out, I found this https://www.tkmaxx.com/uk/en/womens-mod-box/coral-floral-lace-bardot-dress/p/15098674 and bought it! Put it this way, I certainly wouldnt buy it at the so called normal price, but at that price, of course I did!

I then went for the work voucher, which I put on Amazon to spend, and had a look around. After much looking, and trying to decide what to do, I ended up taking a different course to plan. I was hoping to find a ‘long’ flapper style dress for about the £25, but no joy. Then again, lets face it, young flappers were looking to show their legs, not hide them! But fine, I’m not young, so…I did find a nice, maxi length one, but it was about £40, so no… In truth, I do own 2 flapper style dresses, both above the knee, and never likely to be worn by me outside of home!

So what did I do, you ask? Well, of course I now know of a second movie that Clara Johnson appeared in, so I’ve added that to my collection. ‘Strike Me Pink’, supposedly starring Eddie Cantor, but for me, featuring a certain Miss Johnson will shortly be winging its way to me. I also went on a silver color clothing hunt, and found a silk skirt, with elasticated waistband, so got that instead. Both wont arrive until New Year, movie from US, skirt from China, but at least I’ve now finally spent the vouchers!

Oh, tonight’s video, nothing to do with the charity campaign, and everything to do with some ghastly Amazon adverts! Guess what, the video is that song, only sung decently by original Supertramp member, Roger Hodgson

Christmas time, anyone got the transformation pill?

Given that I’m lacking for material at present, and this concept amused a workmate earlier today, lets roll with it!

Yes, tomorrow is one of those days when I get dressed up at work, but for once, its not a nice dress, for a meal, either with workmates, or with friends, or indeed for a presentation. No, this is the silly end of the scale, its an elf outfit!

There is a good reason, its the day that the ‘Secret Santa’ gifts are getting handed out at work, and Miss Claus (yes, we have a female Santa!) has an elf assistant, namely me! A lovely man at work is also getting dressed up as Scrooge, I’m told, so people ringing our office tomorrow might wish they had video phones lol!

Of course, the snag for this elf, is that her ears are, well, lets face it, rather human looking! Not surprising really, under the circumstances, but anyway…Wouldnt it be handy if there was a 1 day transformation pill I could take, to give me the proper elf look? I know, might be a bit awkward for the parts of the day when I’m in human guise, but in truth, with the wooly hat on, to keep me warm, would they really know?

PS Santa, if you know of one, leave it in my bedroom overnight, and I’ll take it in the morning lol! No, I’m not expecting to see any extra pills to take in the morning, somehow!

I suspect the rest of my Christmas might be a bit calmer, unless someone is planning to offer me a part in a production somewhere? No, as likely as finding that elf transformation pill in the morning, lol! But if it appears, I’ll let you know!

Right, video time. Maybe I should have gone with the standard video, but lets be brave, go with the live version. Discretion does add that if it isnt good for you, the official video can be found on the you tube page for this video. So…

The Elf In The Office

In a sense it might be a good thing that I’m not totally a believer in method acting, as I would have absolutely no idea how to get into the mindset of an elf. In truth, it wont be the first time I’ve played an elf, though it was about 45 years ago that I last did so, and I certainly wasnt contemplating method acting in the slightest back then, even if the concept existed at that time! In truth, given its just dressing up as an elf, to help Miss Claus give out Christmas presents at work, so I dont think its too critical, either way!

Oh, and yes, the outfit fits, I tried it on earlier today, just to make sure, though I didnt risk trying the tights/stockings/leggings on, in case of tear. Lets face it, its the main part of the outfit that needs to be fine, and it is. The elf boots are nothing like in the picture I posted a couple of blogs back, where they looked quite long, but in truth, they just about cover the ankles! Also, they are pretty soft, so I’m going to need to use them as shoe covers, as opposed to the only thing on my feet! And oh, the elf tunic nearly covers my knees! So yes, the tights (or whatever) will definitely have to be worn, at my age, for sure!

Thankfully, or otherwise, putting on the elf outfit didnt transform me completely. Probably for the best, though it might definitely have been interesting short term, and allowed me to get into the elf mindset, but never mind…

But yes, if any theater group, or movie company needs an elf extra, give me a call! And yes, if anyone does know a way to give me a true elf mindset, then lets go for it!

Right, video time. I know nothing about this, beyond that it came up on a random You Tube search, so…?

A Spaceman Came Travelling

Well, at least no one should be in doubt about tonights video lol! One of those glorious under rated Christmas songs that doesnt get the love it deserves. So fine, that can lead to a little silliness tonight, OK?

Over the years there has been much talk about whether there are visitors to Earth from Outer Space, or not. Now, whether Roswell really happened in 1947, or not, who knows? But its funny, that if nothing happened, why security is so tight in that little area of New Mexico, but anyway…? And yes, in terms of logical flight times, it seems unlikely, to put it mildly. But equally, if these alien being have created some form of hyper space flight, well then, who knows? But agreed, in most cases, unless they have craft that can fly faster than the speed of light, its pretty doubtful.

Yes, thats a shame for me, as I would love it to be true! Even better if they want to prove it to me, in any way of their choice! Oh fine, the offer of a part as an alien, with decent/good outfit, I would love it! In a sense, I suppose De Burgh’s hypothesis about an event that happened just over 2000 years ago is probably no better, or worse than many others. I’m sure an angel would have looked a very alien creature to Shepherds back then, for sure. But a visitor from Outer Space, who has never returned in over 2000 years (allegedly), hmm?

Well, I know my next ‘acting’ role, and it wont be an alien, unless I get a very good offer within the next 10 days! Instead, it will be an Elf, acting as assistant to Miss Claus, at the Secret Santa gift presentation, a week on Wednesday. Yes, its a ‘get your own outfit’ job, and I found this one on Ebay that I thought would be fun.

Not sure something that short is wise at my age, but its only for a few hours, so why not? If anyone is daft enough to risk their picture taking device (cant just say camera any more, lol) taking a picture of me wearing it, I promise to post it!

Right, the video. You know what it is already, and its the official version of it, as it seems quite apt
