The one area of California I still want to visit.

Its funny, 51 weeks ago, I was reminiscing on here about a golf tournament in the US that I watching on TV, and saying how much I loved the area. Yes, Riviera, in Pacific Palisades, somewhere I suspect I may well return to in May, given that I suspect that unless ‘I make it’, it will be my last visit to the area for quite a while, if not longer. Because in truth, I have no idea how much longer my body will stand up to West Coast flights. And besides, 3 holidays in a row in that area is just way too much lol!

At the other end of the state, I’ve been to San Francisco a couple of times, and loved the city, which definitely includes that baseball park, and the view. And no, that definitely isnt the Oakland Coliseum, though I have seen a game there!

But in between the 2 big cities is one small area that I’d love to visit, though its easier said than done, for a non driver. Yes, thats right, and anyone that knows their golf venues will have worked out, is the area around Carmel, and Pebble Beach.

Fine, as I havent played golf in about 40 years (beyond pitch and putt/ par 3 golf), I have no plans, or desires to actually play Pebble Beach, but I have to say that the golf course looks amazing, and the views even more amazing! Oh, and fine, probably my main reason for going to Carmel is to visit the town, where a certain famous resident lives, though I wouldnt see her. Yes, Doris Day, who will be 93, or 95 this April, depending on which version of her age you go by! I have been a fan of her for probably about 50 years by now!

But in truth the whole Monterey peninsula looks amazing, and I hope one day to get there, though I suspect Doris might not still be with us by then. But fingers crossed…?

So yes, I might have been to California 5 times after May, but it doesnt mean I’ve seen everywhere in the state that I would love to!

The video. Probably one of my favorite Doris Day songs ever, though sadly the only live versions I can find (unsurprisingly) is from the movie, Calamity Jane. Fine by that, but it does mean she doesnt sing the whole song herself, but Howard Keel isnt a bad singer lol!

A full set of blondes

I could have told you about an interesting little project that I might be getting involved in, but lets leave that for later in the week!

So yes, lets have a blog full of blondes, including me!

Firstly, one of my favorite actresses/singers of all time, celebrated her birthday yesterday. If you believe some figures, she was 92, if you believe others, she was 94! Yes, Doris Day, movie star, singer, and well known animal lover reached a landmark again yesterday. And just think, but for a car crash, she may well have stuck to dancing, never been a singer, and without that, never a movie star…Yes, its amazing what fate can hold for some. Whichever birthday it was, I hope you had a good one, Doris.

Second one is me. Yes, being honest, I’ll be properly blonde again, after tomorrow. In an ideal world, I’d have had it colored about a month ago, when the dark hair began to show through too much. Understandably, due to the lack of money, I tried to put it off. But yes, fine, last week, it annoyed me too much, so as I can scrape the money together, its getting done! So yes, it will be back to a more Harlowesque sheen, and style, from tomorrow lunchtime on! I wish someone would create a color that made you genuinely permanently that color! It wouldnt be so bad if my hair went grey, a little (I’m in my late 50’s, after all), but no such luck.

Third one is Jean. Yes, she had a few quirks, which basically comes down to no nightwear, no bras, and no knickers. The first 2 I cant replicate, because of health issues with the former, and the size of my boobs in the second. The last one, well, I thought it sounded weird, until I tried it. Yes, like Jean, I discovered that my bits quite enjoyed being able to breathe. I only do it indoors, sometimes, never outdoors, mainly because its not as warm here as California!

Lastly, Blondie, aka Debbie Harry. No, nothing sensational about her, just a convenient video of her, at the David Bowie tribute concert.

A Winter Wonderland?

Yes, I know a few people who were hit by the snow storm over the weekend, on the East Coast of the US. Thankfully, as far as I know at least, all are fine. As an added treat, Storm Jonas is now heading for the UK, but thankfully (I think?) by the time it gets here, having crossed the Atlantic and all, it wont be snow that hits us, it will be rain. Mind, given how flooded some areas have been in Yorkshire, I’m not sure that a possible 4 inch dump of rain is necessarily a good thing?

I have seen several feet of snow on the ground before. Thankfully, I was on a nice warm train, crossing the Rockies in the winter of 2003. And by the time I got off the train briefly, in North Dakota, it wasnt snowing, but was exceedingly cold! Minus 25F, dont ask me what that is in centigrade, but its cold. But of course, much of the snow had been swept off the platform, so all was fine.

Thats not to say I havent been out in a snow storm, because I have. November 2014, in Albany, I experienced a snow storm where 11 inches of the stuff was dumped on the city. Do you know what, the buses kept running, though admittedly, that was down a main road, I’m not sure if it was the same on lesser routes, but…they were used to it, nothing ground to a halt, unlike when we have more than an inch over here, probably less!

I’ve seen pictures of New York, I’ve also seen pictures of more rural areas, and the way the snow built up, is quite amazing. Yes, I know, public transit was stopped in places, roads were closed in a few too, but I do think that was wise on the whole.

Who, me, I prefer California weather, I think. Last night I was watching the golf, from Palm Springs, much more my kind of weather lol!

Given that one dear friend on Long Island, said he would do nasty things to anyone singing ‘Let It Snow’, I thought I’d better choose something else for the video tonight, so you can have this Doris Day track instead.

Sentimental Journey

The last time I was in Jersey, I went in a betting shop during the evening. Anyone in the UK now, will be reading this, and saying, so what? Simple, back in the early 80’s (either 81, or 82), betting shops in this country closed at 6.30 pm, whether racing was over or not. But in Jersey, strictly part of the UK, but with its own governance, the betting shops, in summer, used to stay open. Ironically, I wasnt actually working in the industry at the time, but I had done so before, so the idea of going in a shop, when they were all shut at home, just amused me. To be honest, I probably only stayed a few minutes, but I could say, I’d been there!

Nowadays, over here, all year long, most betting shops stay open until 10.00 at night, every night! So much for progress lol!

I have this uncertain feeling about how this trip will play out. I’m either going to rediscover the joys of Jersey again, or I suspect, more likely, I’m going to find it so changed that I will regret going back, and not just staying with my memories of my time back then. But equally, this far more mature 50 something, is a very different person to that person, barely in her 20’s the last time she visited. So I might even like those changes!

I’m not sure how much I really remember anyway, I know that when I went back to Rochester last year (a mere 25 years), I didnt really remember anything at all, beyond the lake, and then, I saw it at a different point to before, so…

Oh, the other irony just shows how security issues have changed since then. Back then, in the early 80’s, as I wasnt leaving the UK, I could fly to Jersey without a passport. Nowadays, its still part of the UK, but I will have to show my passport at the airport to get through security, to board the plane…Ah well…

Oh, the video, the first blonde I grew up to adore, long before Jean Harlow came into my life. As is so often the case, the clue is in the blog title!

Winter Wonderland?

No, I dont think the current conditions over here are very wonderland like, but at least I havent had to go out in it the last week, even if I have braved it a few times, as much for fresh air as anything else. And yes, I know, it could have been worse, but it could have been better too, even if I dont expect miracles in January! But tomorrow, here comes the bad news, its back to work time, and I have to go out in it! I’m sure the trains and buses will react accordingly now that I’m back to work, though to be fair, so far they’ve been pretty good, but now I’m back at work…And yes, its an early start again tomorrow, oh joy!

The funny thing at work is, that even the so called all weather racing is being cancelled at present, yes, thats how bad things are at the moment lol! Always the way, no sport on when I’m on holiday! Not that there might be much tomorrow, there are 2 all weather meetings at present, but both need to inspect in the morning, so…especially given one of those tracks couldnt race today! Mind, knowing the idiocy of our shop staff, and the desperateness to bet of our punters, I’m just wondering if there is any football in Fiji, or some other equally remote landscape where someone will find a game that they can bet on. I dont think form matters, just the need to throw some money at the bookies at times. No, I dont understand that need, but as they pay my wages…

The video, sorry, couldnt resist this, one of my favourite artists, lets face it. But no, that doesnt mean I think this winter weather counts as a wonderland lol!

Just in case you missed it.

I’m taking a chance here, and assuming all readers are here because of the mind control thing, and related happenings? Seriously, if you arent, how did you find this place? Alright, by Google searches judging by the stats I get from here lol!

One artist I love, and who (at the right point in time) I’d love to have the looks of, is Doris Day. Seemingly I’ve never fitted any of her songs on here, though I’ve certainly slipped a couple into my other blog, thats for sure. So whats given me the chance to put that right, or more correctly, who has given me the chance to put that right. Why, none other than Heather, and her wonderful story this week!

Its well written, utterly hilarious from start to finish, and deserves to be read by many. And judging by reviews so far, its not just me that thinks so. For those few of you not already in contact with the archive, here’s your chance.

And yes, for those of you who come here through google links for Breast growth and Bimbos, go read it too. I know you do, but you’re safe, I dont know just who you are, lol! 😉

I know, some of you will already have found it, and commented on it, but hey, I have to hedge my bets. Talking of humourous stories, I’ll give it a try as from next week too, be warned though, it is different subject matter. But for those who love Domme’s with a sense of humour… 😉

Ah, the excuse to include a Doris Day song. This might be more the original look of Bambee, but probably not.  But the thought of Calamity Jane came into my head while reading the story, so I can see a connection at least. And cracking whips might apply to my story at some point, though not as yet!
