Robots are taking over the workplace

Question is, will they take over our jobs, or take over us!

Alright, fine, at this point that may be a slight exaggeration, but its coming, for sure. Just glad I’m at the back end of my working life, though fine, I might enjoy becoming part of the robot workplace, but thats beside the point!

Because lets face it, call centre work would be one of the prime candidates for an ‘automated’ workplace, lets face it! Mind, it was only yesterday I saw about a Japanese hotel where many of the work staff have already been replaced by robots. I know, its Japan, but in time…

Mind, to some degree, you are going to be part of the robotic system, because of all the wearable technology that many people use nowadays. Fine, at the moment, it only advises, or helps you, but how long before it tells you what to do, or just does it, using you as its mouthpiece, hmm? Because, mark my word (but sadly, probably not in my working life), you will become part of the technology machine at work, and in time, it will tell you what to do, not suggest it!

Who, me? Yes, fine, I’m just looking for one of those mad scientist types to turn me into a robot first, so I can control humanity…oh fine, I didnt really say that, honest I didnt… But yes, you’re right, I’d love it!

Now I’ve finished panicking the younger workers, who see their life under the control of technology, or being part of that technology, I’ll finish with the video. What do you think, what you might be, in the future. A new version, I think better than the original

Competency questions, piece of cake!

I wish!

No, dont worry, I still hate the things, its just that something amazing happened this morning, I passed one! I know, cant last, but as long as I impress on Tuesday (proper interview and assessment time) morning, maybe I can forget about them for a while?

Oh, put it this way, despite this morning, if someone offered me a neural download, that would solve all my issues with them, I’d snatch their hand off. I know, letting someone play with my mind, but hey, I’d secretly enjoy that anyway! And yes, that is regardless of it being just the designated download, or something more attached. Lets face it, at my age, I’m hardly pin up material. Unless…I’m also getting a new, younger, upgraded body, in which case he’s free to take control of my mind, especially if that new body looks just like Harlow’s!

Yes, I know, not going to happen, but a girl can dream!

But otherwise, frustrations with said issue continue, I’m just too old to learn new tricks by standard methods! Still, judging by what will happen on Tuesday, the hard part is over! Famous last words, and all that!

On other news, summer seems to have finally arrived, though how long it lasts might be another matter! Went out earlier in a top, and skirt, and nothing else, wow! Well, actually, the top is a very short (above the knees) dress, but at my age, its a top! Maybe I should, and maybe that download should include a ‘sexy thing’ mode as well, but anyway… If I had that Harlow body, I’d have no qualms, mind control or not, just saying… 😉

OK, fine, the video. Well, I want a cute, young body, with blonde hair, and a sexy attitude. So…not Aqua, but Postmodern Jukebox, and their take on said song.

There may, or may not be another blog before Sunday, we will have to wait and see. But there will definitely be one then, as its a very sad Harlow anniversary.

Under whose thumb?

Its amazing to think that just 15 years ago, I’d never owned a proper computer. Yes, fine, in a moment of madness, I did buy one of those awful, early Sinclair things, but comparing those, even to my (by modern standards) extremely basic PC that I purchased in 2000, like chalk and cheese!

Nowadays, the computing powers of modern phones would knock those PC’s into the dark ages, let alone the more powerful computers of today, of which mine isnt one! It does what I need it to do, fine by that, and all, but compared to some…!

Back then, powerful AI was the work of fiction, and nothing more. Nowadays, its still well behind human computing power, but catching up fast. So, just imagine, fast forward another 20 years or so, and what it will be like! So, what do you reckon, who will be in control of things, us, or them?

Because one thing is for sure, at some point in the future, AI is going to overtake human mental capacity, and then? Will they still be happy to serve us, or will they expect us to serve them? Hmm?

And if the latter, will they let us serve as their human slaves, or will they upgrade us in some way, so we are more like them? Just remember, thats what we are doing with AI at present, making them more like us! So how do you fancy a chrome body, and a mind trapped in permanent obedience to your controllers?

Thought not, though maybe some of us might not object as much as others? 😉 It probably wont happen, but just remember these valuable words when AI takes control of the world, all those years from now!

No, it may not happen, probably wont, but it could, just saying…

The video, well, a rather apt song. One of those long forgotten, under rated ones, unless you’re me!

Humans and computers, how long until total interface?

Alright, fine, I suspect some of you want to know how the hypnotherapy training module went, so briefly…

It went well, I have now hypnotised someone myself, as opposed to the more regular dose of me being the one in trance. So fine, yes, someone did put me under as their test, but the new experience was me, putting someone else into trance. It went well, and I’ve signed up for the full course. So by the end of next March, I should be a certified hypnotherapist, wow! Well, I wanted the chance of an interesting new career, and this would definitely be that.

I know that most of my readers on here are across ‘the pond’ from me, but just in case someone is local to Yorkshire, I’m looking for volunteers to let me practice with my training script. Just a good feeling, and relaxation one, nothing more than that. Anyone who is able to, email me at stephmajor8@hotmail.com, or comment here, and I’ll get in touch. If you email, use a title that wont set the spam filter off, pretty please.

But OK, this is the mind control/sci fi blog, so lets have a bit of that. Its hard to believe now, but just 30 years or so ago, mobile phones, were large, chunky, and the battery life was about 3 hours. Yes, things have changed a lot from those things, that could only do calls, texts, and nothing else! Nowadays we have tiny phones that do all that, take pictures, connect to the internet, and everything else! And thats before you get into tablets, and the like!

But nowadays, when you see some people on the trains, or the buses, it doesnt always look like people, and their phones are separate items, more like surgically attached. And yes, give it 10 years or so, they probably will be part of you, which leads me to this article http://www.deepstuff.org/the-coming-merge-of-human-and-machine-intelligence/

Yes, for now, you might think you have control of your machines, but at some point in the future, who will really be in control might be a moot point! Alright, fine, I might enjoy the machine controlling me, but anyway…OK, OK, I would enjoy the machine controlling me, so…

Just think, 20 years from now, the desire to be a robot, or at least be a cyborg might not be a possibility, but reality. Sadly, I’ll be too old (if still alive) to care by then.

OK, the video, no relevance to this whatsoever! But this is fun, and definitely proves Sting has a sense of humour, what more can I say?

Computer control

Its funny how the mind wanders in strange ways while you’re waiting for things to happen. And yes, while waiting for various things to happen, my mind took to wandering today. Not helped possibly by the fact I’m going back to New England this autumn, the home of MIT.

Yes, robots rear their head here lol!

In recent times, with the use of electrode caps, its been possible for people to use computers by thought, enabling them to use computers, when for reasons before they wouldnt have been able to. Its a marvellous achievement, though I have no idea how well it works. And yes, people have been trying to create robots who can move within their own AI capability, albeit with programming thrown in for good measure. Not great success so far, but I’m sure it will happen. As far as I know though, no one has yet got to a point where they try to operate a robot through the control of a human mind.

Maybe its a signal thing? I guess that you cant just send brainwaves to a robot, the signal would have to be digitised into programming first, and maybe thats just too tricky, or too expensive?  But feasible, who knows? I guess its fair to say, that just because we havent heard about it, doesnt mean it hasnt happened, I suppose?

And no, I’m not going to suggest a possible backload, where the robot takes control of the human mind lol! I think its safe to say at present that robots arent that clever, but give them 20 years or so…

Yes, of course I’d love to help out in such an experiment, would be quite interesting having my mind linked into controlling a robot, even if nothing else was going to happen. But…

Thirty years ago, at a time when genetic engineering was a new thing, and highly touted, OMD came up with this song. Lets just say I dont think they were totally in favour of the future back then, though its interesting how little this subject matter has moved on since then. No, not the official video, something including a look into the future, a long time ago.
