The perfect climate for a bad back?

Yes, as I’m sure all regulars know by now, my back has been damaged by old age, for want of a better term. Osteoporosis has caused a small fracture in my back, which I keep under control by using painkillers, both in the form of pills, and a gel, which make life sort of bearable, if nothing more. Its probably not going to improve unless I get a new cybernetic spine, or a full robot makeover, which lets face it, neither have got any chance of happening at present. Give it a few decades, and it might happen, but I’ll be long gone by then!

Apart from the general fragility of my body (my knees are a surgical disaster, leading to very poor circulation of blood to my legs), I have no desire to put up with this pain forever, so though I wouldnt mind a few more years, I dont want to talk in decades any more.

So if anyone reading this, for whatever reason wants to help with the ever increasing meds bills, and the reducing number of days that I can work per week (cut to 4, from 5), then feel free to donate here, or not, as the case may be?

Thought not, but no harm in mentioning it?

One thing that the surgery did mention to me, was living somewhere warmer than here, especially during the winter, because the cold wrecks my back. Yes, would be wonderful, but no money to make it happen, and at my age, finding a job somewhere like that might be tricky too! But yes, if someone wants to set me up somewhere warm, with the funds to look after myself, wouldnt say no. Sadly, I’m not as cute as Marion Davies as a ‘supported’ lady, in case you were hoping I was!

This morning, on one of my Forums, I found out an interesting fact, in an area I love. One of the places in the world where there is very little temperature swing throughout the year, and in a nicely warm sense, is San Diego, in California. Yes, apparently it gets chilly there in winter when it drops to 48 (9C for Brits)! But generally, doesnt often hit 80 (27C) either! Yes, my back would just love that!

I know, Chargers have left town for Los Angeles, and the Padres definitely arent the Dodgers, but I can think of worse places to live, in truth. And lets face it, that idiot Trump wants nice, white Europeans to emigrate there, just needs to change the rules, or provide me with the paperwork at least. Or a wealthy partner, or my own personal ‘Hearst’. I know, I know, no harm in hoping!

The only other place that fits the bill better, Honolulu! But there is far more rain there, and rain is not good for my joints so…

Los Angeles, wouldnt say no, but it didnt meet this match because of the heat in summer. Not that I’d mind, but strictly…

OK, video time. What could be better than a song called San Diego being played in San Diego? I’m not a Blink 182 fan, but thats just far too much fun to miss out on!

All The Small Things (I Could Do)

You know all these people who do something crazy to celebrate their birthdays, especially the landmark ones? No, I never have, been thoroughly boring in that sense, all my life.

So now, why do I feel I want to do something this year, beyond the fact its the oldies landmark of 60, no idea? Even more so given that I’ve now got issues with my back, issues with my budget, given I’m now only able to do a 4 day week, and never done anything crazy like that up to now?

The answer is, no idea, but I feel that I do! The only possible so far, which would definitely be fun, is this, http://www.auntysocial.co.uk/some-like-it-hot-volunteers/ which I have put myself forward for, but its actually on my birthday, and its miles from me, but yes, it would be a wonderful way to celebrate officially hitting old age!

Now I dont (seriously) expect any passing aliens to offer me a flight in a space craft, nor do I seriously expect a friendly mad scientist to turn me into a robot, brainwashed, or the like either (If anyone wants to roleplay for real, either of those 2 things, and you’re in a suitable location…?) . Equally, and lets face it, its too late now for research anyway, do I expect to get offered a guided tour of an ECT theater either. Also, lets face it, I’m not likely to be offered a part in a film, movie, or theater run now, either!

There is also the snag that not only do I now have physical issues, which would stop anything too crazy on that front, but because I’ve had to cut my working week due to it, I havent got the money to treat myself either! So, in truth, beyond perhaps the Blackpool thing, it looks like being another quiet birthday week, ah well…

But fine, it might be fun to just do something silly, once in my life, before I’m officially too old, just saying…? But what?

OK, video time. Big clue in the title here. I know, never been done before, but anyway…

Going down to San Diego

Yes, one day next month, I plan to take the opposite route to the Chargers, and go down to San Diego, from LA. I will be doing it by train, unlike most people related to the Chargers, who I’m sure would do the journey by plane.

I must admit, in terms of travelling distances like this, I prefer to do it by train, than plane, because you get to see some scenery. Oh, and fine, people watching is always fun too. Having never been south of LA, going down the California coast by train, should make for an interesting journey. Fine, the coming back, after dark may not be as much fun, but will make for a good experience, I’m sure, regardless. In terms of a couple of my US journeys by train, this will be a short hop! That is because previously I’ve travelled from Seattle to Philadelphia and back, about 14 years ago, with 2 changes going (Chicago/Pittsburgh), and 1 (Chicago) coming back. So yes, about 3 hours, as opposed to nearly 3 days…piece of cake!

No, I’m not going down to San Diego to convince the Chargers to stay, or audition for the Padres baseball team, but to meet someone for the first time! Yes, one of those Facebook friends moments! I’ll be fine, she likes Powell, Loy and Harlow lol! I dont know, is it an actress thing, that meeting people you only vaguely know for the first time doesnt really bother me? Given what I know about her, in all honesty, I’m certain it will be a very entertaining 6 hours or so, for sure!

Oh, and she’s a witch, so whether I will be travelling on that train home, or Jean Harlow will, I have no idea. I’m not sure if magic spells are really that good, in truth. I suspect it might be easier to change me into my past life self actress, Clara Johnson, now that would be fun. Not sure how she would react to modern lifestyles, mind!

But yes, 2 more delights to look forward to, next month, in California.

Right, video moment! One of those You Tube search issues, I put the name of the city in, and it found this. I do remember the group, though this song is only from last year, sounds fine to me.
