No, not really, I’m not fortunate enough to own one of them, and sadly, I’ve never found anyone else with one either, that would let me be brainwashed by it, at least. Oh fine, as far as I know, strictly, they dont exist. But one thing that has been compared to them, is the sensory deprivation tank, better known as a flotation tank.
You know the things I’m sure, you lay down in body core temperature water, with tons of salt in it, so you literally cant do anything but float. But then you shut the lid down, and you’re in a soundproof chamber. Then you turn out the lights, just lay there, and relax… Yes, its meant to be good for me, and not just in a weird way, because it will quite literally take all pressure off my back while floating, and the sensation should help with the pain.
No, sadly, no one is likely to play a tape or anything telling me that I’m being brainwashed, or processed to be turned into a robot, but the chances of me imagining that, while laying there, well, it might happen!
To be honest, I dont know if, within an hour, even if someone did do that, whether it would make any difference to my mind, who knows? Several hours, or an overnight (and seemingly where I’m going, they do an all night float once a week) stay in the chamber, with said messages being fed to your mind, who knows?
In truth, I’ve fancied trying one of these things for years, even before my back went, for the ‘other things’ it might do to your mind. Now I have a legitimate reason for doing so. And thanks to a couple of wonderful guys (extra prize in year long golf competition), I can now afford to do so. So yes, assuming the booking is still available now (it was a few hours ago), I’m planning to go and get brainwashed, sorry, help to heal my back in a flotation tank on Tuesday! Ooh!
OK, video time. A real Beach Boys oldie, seemingly live!
