No more guilty feelings

No, sadly I havent been brainwashed, or mind controlled into accepting that its fine for me to use a wheelchair, when I need one, much though I would enjoy it if I was! No, the reason I can officially accept it now, without having personal issues over the matter, is that I have been given the news for real, I count as disabled. So yes, absolutely, go for it girl, use that wheelchair with freedom when offered one!

I might add, that for now at least, I dont plan to use one, unless I really need it, which pretty much means it is going to come down to travelling matters, principally airports, though I suspect that major railway stations may become a place where its now all too tempting to use one. I did decline one at Boston recently, though I suspect Kate thought I probably should have done, and fine, it was one of those matters you could make a case out for, either way. But as I didnt have to worry about the case, and I was only walking to the train seat, not stood in one place, it was fine.

Equally, already, if I have to stand in one place, unsupported, for more than a couple of minutes, its a problem! Thankfully, with a bit of planning, most places I can avoid that situation. And for example, things like the wedding, with my brace on, I can survive a fair bit longer, but yes, Immigration, or Security, at an airport, no chance! Especially as I have discovered that wearing a brace through airport security, you have to prove what it is, lol! So maybe next time I’ll take it off post handing over case, but before going through security, just slip it in hand luggage! Ah well…

The main blessing for me, now its been recognized as such, is that I can get a special design chair at work, to help support my back in a way it needs. Standard office chairs are fine for most folk, but when you have a bad back, they’re not sympathetic lol!

Yes, I hope my disability doesnt get worse, as most of the time I can get by under my own steam. It has slowed me down, that 20 minute gap between finishing work, and getting to the bus bay has got more of a challenge! Still doable at present, but…

But yes, now, next May in Manchester Airport, if not sooner, I will have no need to feel guilty about needing a wheelchair to get me through any more, I have disability status! Thats not to say that if someone wants to ‘convince’ me that its fine, that I’d say no, but… 😉

The video, something I dont need to feel any more about this requirement

Someone sends me flowers!

No, before anyone gets over excited, starts making wedding plans for me, and anything else, its nothing like that! For one thing, they’re from a woman, and I know nowadays, but she doesnt rock that way lol! In fact, if she hadnt had ‘fun’ with the website, I suspect it would have been this,

alien-suit

or something similar, but when, and where I would have actually worn it, I have no idea. Mind, if someone wants to provide me with the matching flying saucer…? 😀

Yes, its a lovely floral display, with some silver, and gold in it, anyone would think she knew me far too well? I meant to take a picture today, but it hasnt happened, so for now, you’ll have to believe me. Even if I had, I’d have to find the lead to let me download it to here, so…lol. 😛

She’s actually one of a pair of Facebook friends I’m hoping I can get to meet next September, but given I’m not sure exactly what my long time friend has planned for me, I havent got anything concrete on that. I’m also hoping to get to New Hampshire to be brainwashed, sorry, hypnotized, so that I can find out more about my past life self. So throw in a proper break for both of us, and…we will see!

Yes, before you ask, its an early Christmas present, love it. Actually, I have been given another present already, today in fact. Yes, a lock for my metal collar, great stuff! It is currently locked, though I have the key still in it, for both quick release, if needed, and because with the issues with my fingers, I’m not sure how quickly I could put the key in, get the collar off, and stuff, if I didnt! Now, if I had that matching alien suit lol…A dominant alien controlling submissive little me, hmm? 😉 Or a nice robot suit, or…? Oh fine, if anyone other than S needs measurements, let me know, OK? 😉

All other presents will actually be waiting until Boxing Day, as the rest of the household here are away until then, after tomorrow, and I’m going to wait until they get back to open mine. I would ask if anyone wanted to turn me into a robot for the Christmas period (by any means), but I’m on feeding duties for cats, and gerbils, so maybe not, sadly. Still, for a day, or so…? I finish work Thursday evening, go back next Thursday lunchtime, if anyone wants to offer? No, probably not!

OK, the video. A total misnomer, but its a lovely song, and does mention flowers, so…

Going back after 14 years, things have changed a little!

Yes, I know, its actually the second time I’ve been to Newbury in 6 weeks, but last time around, I didnt really get to see anything of the town. This time around, I have, and unsurprisingly, the place has changed somewhat in 14 years.

Though ironically, 14 years ago, there was a really nice Italian restaurant down by the river, and last night, in pretty much the same spot, I found another. No, not the same one, but close enough.

But what I did notice last night, and even more so, in daylight today, is how much the main street has changed. There were 1 or 2 shops in the same place I knew them, but only a handful, at most. Where I used to work, as a betting shop manageress, is now a Tattoo parlour!

Dont get me wrong, I’m glad I stayed the extra day, and had a look around, and managed to complete the circle, as I left here rather hastily in 2001, when my mother fell seriously ill, and didnt get to say goodbye properly. Well now, 14 years later, I have. But equally, now I know that I must never go back to Yeovil, where I lived for 16 years, until ’99, or to the Medway towns, where most of my formative years were lived (last seen 2003), as it just wouldnt work.

I sort of guessed this might be the case, though of course the gap from the previous visit to Jersey was 30 years, but no, still a place changes far too much in half that time. Next time, if I have to come back, and I might for the make up top up sessions, on a yearly basis, I will come in, get it done, and move on, I now know.

But thanks, Newbury, for letting me complete the circle of my life here, all the same.

One last funny thing, I went in a few charity shops today, not looking for anything in particular, just to see if anyone took my eye, or anything vintage, or vintage style. Near the end of my round trip, I found a charity shop with 2 gorgeous dresses, both priced up at £12.

One was a size 14 (my size), but had a zip down the back, and with my joints, zips behind my back are a total no-no! I tried it on, all the same, because it was a most gorgeous 20’s style dress, but no, I couldnt get it on without zip work, so I left it there.

But, there was a 30’s style dress, with a zip, but it was a size 18! I was right, enough wriggle room that I could get it on, without the need to lower the zip! And given the way it hugged the figure, it worked for me. So yes, it came back to the hotel with me. Thing is, it still had the original price tag in it, for £200! Now, whether someone bought it as a size 18, couldnt get into it, and just took it to a charity shop, I have no idea. Equally, I guess it may just have not sold, and got given to the charity shop in a period of time. Either way, I’m a happy lady!

The video, the tale of me, and Newbury, I guess?
