Lets get together over a glass of…?

As, hopefully by now my regular readers will now know I’m strictly not allowed alcohol because of all the pills I’m on for my spine, and my brain, and everything else that has failed, but anyway… Doesnt stop me laughing about a story relating to the subject of drinking (or in this case, not drinking alcohol, does it? Yes, we’re on EMCSA story time again, and the next one might be too, depending on when I get to Betsy’s story. But for tonight…

https://mcstories.com/StraightToHerHead/index.html

Dont fall for the Author Name, this is not a hypno story, honest! To be honest, I’d love a date like this, and I wouldnt mind the job our ‘victim’ gets to do either! Except that with a major rebuild, me wearing that outfit, not really going to happen! So yes, no alcohol, no hypnosis, but a mind control story, honest. Yes, go read it, seriously! Great punch line too not what you will be expecting by then, for sure.

I cant in truth remember the last date, date that I went on. As for one like this, I only wish. But fine, I would love to be ‘set up’ like this, for sure. Yes, girls, and guys, a date for me doesnt have to end up romantic (in fact probably best for both if it doesnt), but fun like this, far more my scene. Oh fine, serving as a robot maid would be even better, but seriously…

Well, either that, or set up for some wealthy beau (male or female) from the 1920’s (with time travel?), as their cute flapper girl, or indeed, flapper maid would be fine by me! Well, wouldnt turn down a Marion Davies scenario, but anyway…?

Right, video time. A little glass of Champagne? Well, if only I could… Yes, I had this single 43 years ago, I have to say!

Guest, staff, or a bit of both?

I was considering giving my friend Betsy a plug in my next blog, because she’s got a follow up story to Auction out, and the first section is pretty good. Stephanie Johnson hasnt actually appeared yet, but I think its a certainty she will at some point, given the friendship between her, and me, unless I time travel Miss Johnson back to the 1920’s, or to a Robot Pod, and even then she’d probably come and get me! For those who want to check it out early, and its well worth doing, the link is

But for tonight at least, its been topped out by this!

https://mcstories.com/ScenesFromAHotel/index.html

Only question is whether I’d prefer to be a guest, or an employee at this place, or ideally a guest who gets selected to become staff! I know one thing, when I’m cleared to fly again, I really must try and book in at this place! It seems to be a non discriminatory hotel in the sense that both staff, and guests seem to be fair game to be transformed. What joy!

Its fair to say currently that I have probably got less mind to tamper with, but I have no idea if thats a good thing, or bad? Might spice up my sex life (not hard), if nothing else, or they might decide it would be fun to have a robot maid, or something. Either that, or open up a hotel in the 1920’s, and all staff need to act like sexy little flappers, with cosmetic improvements as needed, and I certainly would!

But yes, its a nice selection of short pieces, so if 8K words is beyond your time in 1 sitting, read some, save others for later, or reserve them, as a more suitable comment for hotels.

Oh, and as for those chocolates, oh please…!

The song is the obvious one for a hotel story, but its not the Eagles. I know nothing about this group, so I have no idea if they’ve made it since this, or it was a one and gone moment, but its a decent cover of the song, for sure. And lets face it, if you’re fussy, not hard to go find an Eagles version, lets face it

I hate you, Mr Wagner

Or maybe it should be I hate you, Mr Masked Writer? Why, well, maybe this

https://mcstories.com/WhateverGetsYouThroughTheNight/WhateverGetsYouThroughTheNight13.html

And to save you reading it all, especially as it wont make a ton of sense without the other 12 chapters, the quote is…

Another showed him as a proud Viking warrior, complete with the horns that Vikings didn’t wear until Wagner glued them onto some helmets.

Why do I hate this piece of reality, you might ask? Well, because as a woman, one of the parts I always wanted to play, despite the fact that I cant sing all that well, is to dress up like the Valkyrie women, with those amazing bodypieces, and the helmets with the horns, like the Viking women supposedly did, and then I find out that it wasnt really true! I suppose I shouldnt be totally surprised its all false, as I doubt many, if any women went on those Viking missions in the first place, but a girl/woman could dream.

Mind, I suppose that by now its so written into folklore, and that so few people would know the truth, that if the opportunity should arise, there’s no reason I couldnt still do it, while trying to remind myself that it was only a Wagner ornament, and not the real look, ah well…

In truth, I know, I only want to do it because of the crazy look, but I at least thought it was a genuine crazy outfit, but now even that dream is broken. As I say, in truth, there probably wasnt even any female Viking warriors, let alone wearing anything as excessive as that, but all the same.

But yes, you’re right, if someone came up to me, asked me to put on the whole Valkyrie costume, and perform, though hopefully not sing, of course I would, and love it!

Not sure I’ve ever included opera in any video, on either blog before, but there is always a first, and here it is!

Shuffle off to…?

Well, but for events of about 5 months ago, I’d now be thinking about a holiday in the US  next month, teaming up with Kate for a week or so. As to where it would have been, we will never know. At the time, prior to the first seizure, it was safe to say it was down to 2 options, New England, or possibly Oklahoma, for one very obvious reason. Yes, it might strictly be Kate’s home state, but it was someone else that I would have been going there for, also from that state, Clara Johnson! I suspect New England might have won out anyway, but we will never know for sure.

Mind, if someone has his way, I might be retiring to Oklahoma as Clara Johnson! No, I cant afford Los Angeles, which is where I’m certain her life ended, but anyway…But yes, I might (if even possible) retire as Clara Johnson, but somewhere slightly warmer in winter, lol! Someone might suggest Oregon, lol?

Its funny, I was watching a video on You Tube last week, the 50 cheapest cities to retire to in the US, and both the big cities in Oklahoma made the list. Mind, a lot of them were either in the ‘frozen’ north, or in that Deep South area which wouldnt be suitable for an LGBT lady like me! Yes, a reason why they are the cheapest areas, not the loveliest to live in.

The funny thing is, assuming I get cleared to fly to the US is now where my next trip will be? If it is later this year with Kate, a lot of the US, including New England is going to be a ‘bit’ chilly by then (given its not going to be September, and October is doubtful), but whether she will think something through, who knows? Otherwise I think Oregon might be possible, and I might end up a whole new woman, though doubtful that will be a robot one. Oh, I wish! Mind, I’d settle for an AI brain replacement for starters, lol. Now wouldnt that be fun? Even more so if it came complete with young, Clara Johnson body!

In truth, actual holiday plans now are more likely to be next year, but who knows? Getting back to the retirement list, as a link to the video, and to Clara Johnson, one from the frozen north list, Buffalo. I’ve got to be honest, this is one of very few sections of film that I’ve seen her in where she’s not dancing, once the musicals kicked in. Yes, its 42nd Street, she did dance in the film, a lot, but all she gets to do here is a little singing, and to look cute in a rail sleeper carriage, with another girl, little minx! Mind, I did once, a very long time ago shuffle off to Buffalo, but in a car, with my partner at the time. No, we split 20 years ago, and I have no idea where she is, if even still alive, as she was a bit older than me!

The problem with passwords

The problem nowadays with this modern computerised world is that you need passwords for just about everything you do. Dont get me wrong, its a very good idea to have all your important stuff securely protected, but there are times when it just messes you up. For me, Monday was one of those.

Dont get me wrong, the whole Capital letter stuff, and using a number is fine for all things (and I do), but there are the odd ‘very secure’ site that needs something extra, and I keep a safe list of those at home, because thats the only place I’m likely to need them. If you saw the action I had to do when changing laptop, you dont want to know, lol.

But Monday, I had to take some paperwork in, so they can start the process for getting me my medically related benefits, but what I didnt know was that I had to put something on the website before taking it in for them to confirm, and I didnt know that. Now my username, yes, I know that. My password, not, seemingly. So I had to come home, sort it out, and thankfully my friend, Linda could go in with it the next day, so its all sorted now. Yes, I had to use one of those non letter/number things in the password, ah well… Yes, thankfully, they saw how ‘damaged’ I was, and said I didnt need to go back in, thank goodness. But yes, still felt guilty about Linda needing to go back in, but thats just me!

Yes, I wish someone would fit me with an AI unit in my brain so that I didnt have to remember all these things ever again! Oh, and fine, I’d enjoy that op, anyway.

Right, video time. I know it wasnt the alphabet bit of the password that stumped me, but I still thought this rather apt!

Working with the queen of hearts

Strictly this video should have been written last night, but do to various events, its only happening tonight. In truth, there were follow up murders on 10th August, 1969, to supposedly cover up the events of the 9th, I’m using that as my alibi. Yesterday was an event that I have so many tenuous connections to, that I had to mention it when it was pointed out to me. Yes, the murder of Sharon Tate, 4 others, plus her unborn baby (she was 8 1/2 months pregnant at the time) happened 50 years ago yesterday, carried out by a number of followers of Charles Manson, as part of their devotion to him. The irony being that in all likelihood, Tate wasnt his target, she was just the person in the wrong place, at the wrong time. The wrong place was 10050 Cielo Drive, Benedict Canyon, Los Angeles.

Reading up more about it today, once I realised the anniversary, the person Manson really had the grievance with was Terry Melcher, the son of Doris Day, who was producing, and playing with the Beach Boys at the time. Basically one of the Beach Boys, Dennis Wilson fell under the spell cast by Manson, and asked Melcher to help Manson to release an album. All we really know is, it never happened. There are stories that Manson sounded awful, the songs were terrible, or the fact that (quite rightly) Doris Day told her son that there was something ‘wrong’ about Manson, and that he shouldnt help him. Whatever the reason, he didnt, but between the rejection, and that fateful day, Melcher moved out of Cielo Drive, and Tate, and Roman Polanski moved there instead.

But because Manson was fixated more by the address than anything else (he probably wouldnt have the new address for Melcher) he sent a number of his followers there to murder anyone they found there. I’m not going to bore you with all the history, especially as the film, ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ has just been released, which covers many of these events.

The other connection is actually through Jean Harlow. Sharon Tate, shortly before her death is said to have visited the Bern/Harlow home nearby on Easton Drive, and saw Paul Bern’s (her 2nd husband) ghost, who warned her about events to happen shortly after. None of it is truly confirmed, but its a story that survived down the years, all the same.

Right, video time. Same song, two artists, a song that probably described Sharon Tate, in truth. Firstly, the original Juice Newton version (love some of the dresses)

Then the version of the song I grew up with

A bad day for actresses?

To be fair, I wouldnt even get close to either of these in terms of ability, and I suspect that if you take any date on the calendar that you could find famous actresses passing away, but for me at least, and my tastes, August 8th is not a great date. Still, as long as I get through the next 4 1/2 hours…? 15 years ago today, and covered a lot more in my other blog, Fay Wray passed away. Mind, given she was born in 1907, and survived until 2004, she did pretty well for someone that groped by a gorilla lol. Maybe it was the time in the wax museum that preserved her, lol?

19 years earlier, Louise Brooks also passed away on the 8th August in Rochester, New York. The funny thing was, as got discussed earlier today, until just more than 2 years earlier I’d lived in Rochester, though the UK one, and had lived there for over 20 years, not the one in northern New York state. But now, the most recently visited one is the New York one. The subject came up earlier today in one of the Louise Brooks groups I’m a member of, when a poster from the UK version of Rochester posted about her death, mentioning the town connection.

Of course, in my time, I’ve not only visited the other Rochester (the US one), I’ve also visited Cherryvale too. Not yet got to Wichita (home there is demolished anyway), but other than that, completed the circle.

So yes, if I never post again, then maybe I was the 3rd to die on August 8th, though technically, on the 19 year thing, I’ve got 4 years to go, lol?

OK, video time. No, its not the obvious Pandora’s Box, nor is it Sweet Louise (because I cant find a video version, just audio), but still gone with the New Seekers, all the same.
